BLIXA'S LITTLE HELPER

Here's another panel from the comic. This one features Blixa Danzig and his little helper. Looks like shop class.

W.T.H.

What The Hair.

Here's another random panel from Wednesday. No, Wednesday is not having a bad hair day. That's fashion. (She gets it under control a few pages later).

As a comic book artist you have to be fashion-aware. Doesn't matter where your story is set or what it's about. You have to dress your characters and do their hair -- especially when it comes to the pajama-party of superhero comics. I mean, SOMEONE designed Lobo's hair and make-up.  He didn't get that Rob Zombie look all on his own... and SOMEONE gave this guy Robert Smith hair.

BIG BAD

This guy brings mayhem, death, destruction.

He says HELLO by throwing a car at your face.

CUDA

If you've followed any of my blogs or postings over the years, you might have noticed I have a thing for the Hottest Car On Wheels Ever. 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda.

A 71 'Cuda is one of the main characters in the Wednesday comic. You'll see it go through some changes over the course of the book. Here's a panel, pre-flames. And by "flames" I mean paint... or DO I?

Inks by Alex Riegel, colors by John Bergin

CLIKT

Here's a random panel from the book.

Clikt is a very distant cousin to the sound effect Snikt.

ALEX RIEGEL

Here's a handful of works by Alex Riegel, the awesome artist helping me bring Wednesday to life.

I'm blown away by his amazing character designs for Wednesday and his kick-ass cars (wait 'til you see his Hemi Cuda). I couldn't have a found a more perfect artist for the book. I'm equal parts jealous and stunned by his drawings -- some of the most confident and perfect line work I've ever seen.

Can't wait to share more with you.
